It's not advisable to drink too much strong liquors while climbing in the Alps. If, however, you are going to fall over a cliff, it's advisable to be thoroughly intoxicated when you do so.-English alpinist

So I guess the question all of you are asking is... "What's wrong with Brad?" I would like to tell you that he hit a tree while snowboarding, got knocked out while playing basketball, or fell over the Grand Canyon while rollerblading. Instead, I have to tell you that he is being infected by the xanga disease. No he still doesn't believe in a public scrapbook, but most of his daily readers are not "public" and after all, it is just the internet.

Ok, the real reason I am posting is because a couple guys I work with, and go to church with, taught me how to climb a few weeks ago. Here are a few pictures for anyone who is interested...

This was the second climb. It almost kicked my rear. Oh yeah, and that thing hanging from the back of my harness is not what you might first think. It is a bag of chalk that you rub on your hands to help you grip the rock.

Here is a cool picture of Tyson (my bro) coming back down after the first climb.

Awesome way to get a kink in your neck.

Here is a group shot. From right to left... Myself, Josh (friend from work and church), Tyson, Craig (friend from church), and last Peter (friend from work and church).

While Peter was busy belaying for a climber, Josh and I decided to advertise the "pant leg in sock" style he was modeling.

This is how I really feel about it

Here I am belaying for Peter, which basicly means he is at my mercy. We have a love/hate relationship, so I was enjoying this.

Climbing is a dangerous sport and must not be done carelessly. There are guidlines you must follow and precautions you must take. While climbing there are some things you can never let go of...

Well, that should be enough for now. Peace out everyone.

Awesome Brad. I am impressed with your posting skills. By the way, I think that the new style that you are modelling really breaks out of the box-- and I expect to see you model it in Taiwan for the benefit of the rest of the team!

WOW!! I'm so glad you posted!! And it was a very good post, too. That bucket of chalk doesn't seem like a fun thing to carry...rock-climbing looks scary and very very risky.

I am glad that the second climb did not "kick your rear"...that would have been very unfortunate... Rock climbing looks reeeally cool... way to go! I see you've already started training for Taiwan 2006! See you there....

hey Brad...
I doubt you would remember me at all...I met you very briefly in Portland when you were doing a CI there in June, I had just gotten back from Singapore/Malaysia CI's with Ben McEndarfer...

Anyway, just stumbled across your site from Kate's (I was in NZ recently on the same trip with her), and thought I'd drop a note to say "hey!"
